Applying Research to Practice Services:
- Applying Research to Practice topics for all member districts.
- One or two major research-to-practice topics will be selected annually.
- The topics will be selected based on member district needs to translate academic and action-based research into practice to address major educational issues.
- A design team will be assembled to determine the scope of each topic.
- Member districts will contribute through in-kind resources.
- Applying Research to Practice topics for a subgroup of member districts.
- A subgroup is defined as two or more districts wishing to work on a topic beyond the topics selected for all member districts.
- One or two research-to-practice topics for subgroups will be selected annually.
- The topics will be selected based on member district needs to translate academic and action-based research into practice to address major educational issues.
- A design team will be assembled to determine the scope of each topic.
- Participating districts will contribute through in-kind resources.
- Guidelines will be established to set priorities among subgroups.
Additional services may include:
- workshops, meetings and information on subjects requested by member district staff;
- joint programs with universities in which graduate students work on program planning, administration, or evaluation as an internship, independent study, or dissertation project;
- direct assistance from corporate volunteers or staff on release time;
- course credit for administrators or teachers for workshops, courses, or independent studies related to grant preparation or to planning, administration, or evaluation of programs;
- a library to provide books, web links, and software to help member Districts plan initiatives, prepare grants, document results, and evaluate.
