Online Learning Leadership Network

Intermediate District 287 & Northeast Metro 916 Grants and Research Office (GRO)

2011-2012

Are you exploring the possibilities of online learning in your district?

Join a supportive community of colleagues to share ideas and resources, participate in collaborative problem-solving, and develop strategies to implement online learning opportunities in your setting. Network with other district leaders and teams, and engage in focused small group conversations around special interest topics.

The Online Learning Leadership Network includes four full-day face-to-face meetings during the school year, as well as ongoing access to a virtual learning community. A community of learners is organic and dynamic; session topics and activities will be designed in response to participants' needs and interests.

Sessions will be grounded in several thematic strands, including:

  • Curriculum sources
  • Learning management systems, platforms, and venues
  • Student support and special populations
  • Using data: attendance, tracking, assessment, accountability
  • Instructional practice: strategies for effective online teaching
  • Instructional models and design

Participant Outcomes:

  • CONTEXT Increased understanding of the landscape of online learning in Minnesota, from
policy and infrastructure to implications of emerging technologies and learning models
  • CONNECTIONS Build collaborative relationships with colleagues, facilitators, and presenters
  • CAPACITY Increase your team members' abilities to implement and sustain online learning
    initiatives in your district
