Education Priorities:

The Vadnais Heights Area Community Fund is currently involved in seeking public support for the following fundraising efforts:
The Fund for Teachers
The unique mission of this fund is to inspire the lives of students by assisting classroom K-12 teachers, one at a time, with training or other enrichment opportunities geared toward the teacher’s own personal passion. Our organization’s goal is to raise $50,000 which, when matched 50 cents on the dollar by a donor when endowed, allows for an annual grant of $3,500. We believe that teachers play a major role in the lives of our youth and that enthusiastic and passionate teachers have a positive impact and lasting benefit to our children and our community. Last summer four area teachers each received grants of approximately $3,500 through a one-time access to this program, and the results were extraordinary. One teacher traveled to India to study the culture and walk in the footsteps of Gandhi. Another studied Shakespeare at the University of Delaware and in Stratford, England, and two other teachers attended a seminar in Texas and received training from the International Baccalaureate Organization to help primary students think globally and act locally.
