Tech-Prep Demonstration Program

Also known as (TPDP)

This program provides grants to eligible consortia consisting of a local education agency that is a provider of vocational education at the secondary level and a business partner, to enable them to carry out Tech-Prep education programs that involve the location of a secondary school on the site of a community college and the voluntary participation of secondary school students.

Tech-Prep vocational-technical education programs combine at least two years of secondary education preceding graduation with at least two years of post-secondary education, in a non-duplicative, coherent sequence of courses leading the student to an associate's degree or certificate in a specific career field and to high-skill, high-wage employment or further education.
