Education Priorities: |
Helping Children Succeed - We believe that our community's greatest opportunities – and most difficult problems – revolve around our children. The Foundation has actively supported a number of organizations that meet three critical areas of need: safety, stability and growth. This includes programs that provide basic necessities for children in need; programs that provide safe, consistent and healthy environments for children; and programs that empower and stimulate young people to maximize their development and personal potential. |

How to apply: |
The Star Tribune Employee Contributions Committee reviews and selects organizations for small grant awards. The program is offered twice a year, from March to May and June to August, for grant requests of $5,000 or less. A total of $200,000 is distributed through this program that helps Star Tribune employees learn about nonprofit organizations and the needs in our community.

Special note: |
The Star Tribune Imagination Fund, a special funding program for teachers in Minneapolis and St. Paul public schools. The goal is to provide grants that help teachers design unique, creative learning opportunities for their students. Emphasis is on projects that increase reading literacy. A total of $50,000 is available through this program, with each small grant limited to $1,000. |
