About Us
The Intermediate Districts provide unique programs for special needs and low-incidence learners, along with other requested services. They work with member school districts to creatively meet the diverse and changing needs of learners through cooperatively delivered, high-quality, cost-effective services. The Intermediate Districts have been educational leaders, receiving both state and national awards throughout their 31 years of existence.
Intermediate District 287 is comprised of school districts located in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities. With 13 member public school districts and cooperative working agreements with the area technical colleges, it is the largest public school entity in the state of Minnesota. The 12 member districts consist of: Brooklyn Center, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Orono, Osseo, Richfield, Robbinsdale, St. Louis Park, Wayzata, and Westonka.
Intermediate District 916 is comprised of school districts located in the northeastern suburbs of the Twin Cities. Intermediate District 916 has 11 member public school districts and a working agreement with Century College. The member districts are: Centennial, Columbia Heights, EMID East Metro Integration District, Mahtomedi, Moundsview, North St. Paul-Oakdale-Maplewood, Roseville, South Washington County, Spring Lake Park, Stillwater, and White Bear Lake.
